Fantasy Seedless is a mid-season black seedless table grape developed and released by David Ramming and Ron Tarailo of the USDA-ARS in Fresno, California in 1989. Fantasy Seedless, previously known as USDA selection C23-92, resulted from a cross of USDA selections B36-27 x P64-18. In addition to several USDA numbered selections, its parentage includes Blackrose, Red Malaga, Muscat of Alexandria and Sultanina.
The clusters are medium in size (0.5 kg.), conical in shape and medium to loose in compactness. The berries of Fantasy Seedless are naturally large (7-8 grams), thin skinned and firm. The flesh is pale green and transcluent and the fruit has excellent flavor when fully mature.
There are approximately 350 hectares of Fantasy Seedless in commercial production in California.
